Went zip lining for the first time, and it was very fun. The guides Dana, Jayce, and Adam are very friendly and helpful. It's pretty straightforward, hard not to enjoy it! The best part is the swamp tour. Saw some beaver dams, LOTS of turtles and their babies, a hawk, and a snake. You also stand in the trees on a few occasions, which is cool. Overall, it's a good price and a good time. The whole thing took over 2 hours to complete, so you really get a good amount of time out there on the zip lines.
To the owners & staff;
They take in alligators that are needed to be relocated! Nice.
After the trip took the nature boardwalk ab 1mile. Very nice.
We did the haunted swamp ride. Save your money. At $20 per person the boat ride was short extremely unscripted and unrehearsed to the point it was almost comical. The children on the ride didn't seem to be bothered much less scared. The whole production seemed like something that neighborhood teenagers put together quickly. I hope they do their homework and layout a proper haunted attraction next year because it really has the potential for a scary ride. The facilities we're extremely nice and modern with gift shop and clean restrooms. They use what appears to be Carolina Skiffs w/electric motors. This makes for a quiet smooth enjoyable ride.
PLEASE focus less on family fun for all ages and cheap jump scares. Instead push for a scare the pants off you professional production. You have a wonderful facility and property that you could truly accomplish a quality haunted attraction for years to come if you just put in the time, research and money.
This place was awesome! It was really fun and easy to learn. You can bring your kids, your family and anyone else for that matter. There are lot of fun activities in addition to zip lining. You can do a nature trail and even do a high-ropes course. If you prefer the water, there is a swamp your on a boat.
The zip lines looked new and will go back for them too.
Living in Shallotte, I frankly thought the park was probably a tourist trap at best. It is not. We had friends in town and decided to finally check it out. We were pleasantly surprised. It's not a theme park and it's not a zoo. The boat tour is a nice local venue to give a brief introduction into our local ecosystem. We learned a few things and saw some wildlife (turtles, brown water snake, bird spider). On the walking tour we got with-in 40 feet of a beautiful barred owl. We had to wait till the next day for the zip line. I did not have high hopes after having zip lined in Costa Rica. It is not Costa Rica but they have done a fantastic job with the topography available. This is definitely worth the time and money. I figured it would be quick and I'd be wanting to go back around. Frankly I was tired by the time we finished and was happy and satisfied that it was the end. Our zip line guides, Ryan and Alexis, were kind, patient, funny and safe. Check them out. They are really working at being a first class facility in the little gem of an area we call home.
Took the swamp boat trip. The guide was fantastic! Very knowledgeable about the critters in the swamp. She made it very interesting. As w any nature tour you may or may not see very many animals. But she told us about all the animals, fish, spiders, birds, etc that live there. Very peaceful. (You are in a large row boat 4 benches seats 4 ppl per bench and a very small quiet electric motor.
